If the music does not intoxicate the fans, perhaps the brews will help, but with this year’s lineup, the buzz from the beer probably isn’t even necessary at the Telluride Blues & Brews Festival in beautiful Telluride, Colorado.

Local musicians have the opportunity to be part of this year’s event, with the advent of the Telluride Acoustic Blues Competition. The competition is seeking the most talented musicians who excel in the blues genre and is open to solo acoustic performers not signed to a record label or publishing deal.

The headlining acts this year range from the absolutely legendary Willie Nelson to the acid-trip performance by The Flaming Lips. Grab a beer, feel the blues, and enjoy with ease knowing this year’s festival is one-hundred percent carbon neutral, offsetting all carbon dioxide emissions created.

You’re going there to see: Willie Nelson out on bail, The Flaming Lips, Dweezil Zappa plays Zappa.

You’re going to come home talking about: The psychedelic funk of Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band, Lionel Young Band blues & boogie woogie.
