Illegal Pete’s Restaurant and their recording label Greater Than Collective sign its latest group, Denver rock quartet The Epilogues. The label has previously signed local favorites Snake Rattle Rattle Snake and comedian Ben Roy, and with the addition of The Epilogues, look to forward its mission of expanding local music around the Front Range.
Since its inception in 2004, The Epilogues have grown to be known as a hardworking band that enjoys making rock music similar to the likes Death Cab for Cutie with a indie/post-rock feel. The band consists of Chris Heckman on vocals/guitar, Nate Hammond on keys, Jason Hoke handling the drums, and Jeff Swoboda on bass. The band’s single “The Fallout,” which was featured on Greater Than Collective’s first release, Denver Delicious, and first video “Hunting Season” helped push the band in the direction of one of Denver’s up and coming indie rock acts.
The hard work has paid off and they have picked up a few awards on the way to being signed, including Westword’s “Best Modern Rock Band”, KTCL’s Hometown for the Holidays, Westword’s Best of the West and KTCL’s Big Gig winners. The band is currently working on its yet untitled album and will be playing two free shows at local Illegal Pete’s in the near future.
