On Tuesday August 21 at 7 p.m., Colorado quintet Elephant Revival and video artist Anna Cosper will release the band’s newest video “Go On” at the Backdoor Theater in the mountain town of Nederland off of highway 72. The event will host a potluck dinner and will be followed by a post-screening performance the band.

The latest video off their 2011 album, Break in the Clouds, “Go On” is a stop-motion animated film with 8,280 individually captured images. “Almost everything was made physically in 3-D, then photographed to be animated by hand in 2-D,” Cosper said in a recent press release.

Elephant Revival is a blend of music and social consciousness. Their sound, harvested from gypsy, rock, Celtic, and alt-country backgrounds has garnered the attention of reviewers and nonprofit organizations alike. Working with the Conscious Alliance, Calling all Crows and Trees Water & People, Elephant Revival uses their music to further the efforts of humanitarian organizations by embodying the cause and not just preaching it.

Event goers are asked to contact Jesscy Heimer at jesscy@aol.com for information on the potluck and are urged to bring their own plates and utensils to make the event waste-free. The event is free but donations will be accepted.
