NEIL YOUNG: Waging Heavy Peace

Blue Rider Press

Neil Young tells readers right off the bat, in this well worth the wait autobiography, that his memoir is a result of his leaving the weed and alcohol behind and that he may have found a new calling as a book writer. It’s a somewhat jarring start to a stellar book.
That’s Neil Young for you, and just like everything else he has done, this book is engaging and compelling because he did it his way. The short concise chapters are a far cry from an epic 20 minute Crazy Horse jam. Still, hearing Young tell his story in his newfound prose is as magical as anything he has committed to tape.                                              Brandon Daviet
