ARISE Festival just announced headlining artist Michael Franti and Spearhead to complete the 100+ performer lineup that encompasses a variety of musicians, independent films, workshops and environmental speakers over three days and nights this August at Sunrise Ranch in Loveland, Colorado.
Featuring a wildly diverse lineup united by common goals and like-minded audiences, ARISE will also host Australia’sXavier Rudd, an eclectic singer-songwriter with a powerful message; Keller & the Keels, led by iconic Americana and roots rocker Keller Williams; and Zap Mama, the poly-ethnic, polyphonic vocal ensemble led by Marie Daulne. Colorado’s own Michal Menertheadlines the electronic portion of the bill, with luminaries in the field like Random Rab,David Starfire, and Desert Dwellers. Other favorites include Greensky Bluegrass,Toubab Krewe, The Motet, Chali 2Na (formerly of Jurassic 5), newly emerging Nahko & Medicine for the People, and a who’s-who of social advocates, outspoken performers, and progressive musicians that leaves no taste untapped.

Given that the free New West Fest and Folks Festival are the same weekend…and with the ticket prices — “Super VIP?” Give me a break!!”– I sincerely hope the promoters of this festival do not take a financial bath. Also given that NedFest is the following weekend, I wonder how tickets have sold thus far.
The lineup is unimpressive to me that I’d look at other fore mentioned options anyway, but I’d like to see any music event in Colorado succeed.
