The first year of a festival can go a number of ways and will determine the future of its possibilities. That being said, the first Arise Music Festival was planned and executed well. With a crowd of a few thousand folks, they have a beautiful valley, worked out in a way that was ready and organized for 25,000.
Arise was the full package, in a way that differs from other festivals we have in Colorado. While music is a central focus, with acts ranging from electronic dance music to bluegrass and everything in-between, there is much more going on all around including fire dancing lessons, yoga classes, activist dialogues, films, healers, artists and more. The tribal, conscious and loving vibe was kicked up a notch by a weekend full of inspiration left and right. I look forward to watching Arise grow and grow in years to come.
Thursday 8/15/13 at Arise Festival featuring Toubab Krewe, Keller and The Keels, Shaela Noella, Quixotic and Kan’Nal.
