It has been 24 years since Hot Rize has recorded an album and these bluegrass pioneers are back at it again with a new album and tour. Bryan Sutton now joins Tim O’Brien, Pete “Dr Banjo” Wernick and Nick Forster to form Hot Rize and has done so for well over a decade joining the band a few years following Charles Sawtelle’s death of leukemia in 1999. At Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom both Hot Rize and Red Knuckles and the Trailblazers brought their timeless music to Denver and welcomed special guest Bill Nershi (and “Speedy Fromage”) of the String Cheese Incident to sit in during the enchanting evening.
