It’s taken Boulder’s Policulture four years to release their debut album, The Bridge. But that time was probably necessary since the 11 song LP is packed tighter than a Tetris game with massive amounts of the group’s mountain reggae sound.

The seven-piece group, which features a melodic horn section, bases their sound on the reggae greats of yesteryear — some of whom, like The Wailers and Jimmy Cliff, the band has performed with over the years. But their very Boulder, very conscious lyrics take what those reggae legends have done and put a decidedly Colorado spin on the music.
