Hideaway Park – Winter Park, Colo.
Blues From The Top’s real work begins when the festival finishes each year. While for many promoters, putting together the line up is the hardest part of an event, for these guys, that’s just a step they have to take, so that they can later get down to the important work of helping their community.
The non-profit Grand County Blues Society, which has since its inception produced over 250 shows and 15 festivals, utilizes the festival to fund incredible programs in their area. They have taken Blues in the Schools to every school in Grand County, worked with local libraries to create positive musical choices for kids, and donated instruments to 40 childrens’ hospitals and over 300 kids.
This year’s festival, now in its 13th edition, will feature the Gospel All-Stars on Sunday morning lead by multi Grammy winner Ashley Cleveland.
