Just a few miles east of the famed Rio Grande Gorge Bridge — the one where Mickey and Malory took their vows in the movie Natural Born Killers — rising out of the desert is the massive Earthship-styled green building that is home to Taos Mesa Brewing. While the building’s environmentally conscious design and construction is impressive, the “backyard” is a site to behold. With two outdoor stages, overlooking the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, the whimsically shaped amphitheatre, which was built from reclaimed materials, is an acoustic wonder.
Travel + Leisure named Taos Mesa Brewing one of America’s Coolest Breweries and with an environment that seems to allow ideas to flow as freely as beer, all complimented by nature’s eye candy and good music, Music on the Mesa is as brilliant as the engineering of their building.
