Plumas Sierra Fairgrounds – Quincy, CA
No doubt the trek to Quincy, Calif. is a haul, but there is a travel option unique to High Sierra that truly makes getting there more than half the fun. Amtrak!
Taking Amtrak’s historic California Zephyr from Denver over the Rockies and through the desert to Reno, the train can get travelers within an hour-and-a-half drive of the fairgrounds. That train trip actually takes longer than driving (almost 25 hours) but it is one of the country’s great journeys, a phenomenal way to see our nation — as American as apple pie on Fourth of July.
- You’re going there to see: Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals, Thievery Corporation, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead
- You’re going to come home talking about: Billy Strings, The Accidentals, Industrial Revelation
