Telluride Americana Music Festival
Sheridan Opera House - Telluride, CO
Telluride’s historic Sheridan Opera House plays home to the Telluride Americana Music Festival, which celebrates acoustic singer/songwriters in an atmosphere as intimate as anyone could ever really hope for. The performers at Americana are not everyday household names. These are America’s real troubadours — champions of folk, blues, and down-home country who have found success in the spotlight while still remaining fairly anonymous to those who don’t devoutly follow the craft. That being said, this is not a festival to be avoided by the uninitiated; rather, it is the perfect place for induction to occur. Essentially everyone — even those most familiar with the genre — leaves Telluride with at least one new act to talk about.
- You’re going there to see: The Black Lillies, John Fullbright, Jimmy LaFave
- You’re going to come home talking about: Zac Wilkerson, Jess Klein, Terri Hendrix and Lloyd Maines
