The inaugural lineup of this festival looks a lot like a festival that should have been hosted almost 1,000 miles to the west, in Colorado. In fact it was developed in Denver by 7s Management. But despite the Mile High musical vibe, Bluegrass in the Bottoms offers a stark contrast to the typical bluegrass environs. The Bottoms, situated just West of Downtown Kansas City, is known for its industrial style buildings from the Stockyards era, abundance of vintage antique shopping, and copious amounts of retro-inspired bistros and boozy cocktail bars. At the center of that culture is the legendary Knuckleheads Saloon, a complex of four stages, indoors and out, that has made The Bottoms a destination.
