It is part of the gold standard of modern music festivals, an unimaginably massive event that attracts just shy of 100,000 people to a 700-acre field in Tennessee, smack-dab in between Nashville and Chattanooga. One hundred and fifty performances will be held on 10 stages for this year’s 16th installment of the ‘Roo. While the early years of Bonnaroo pigeon-holed the event as a “jam festival” — mostly because that was such a huge part of the music scene at the time — Superfly and A.C. Entertainment have since tirelessly worked to showcase a broad horizon of the world’s biggest names and most significant artists.
