It’s gotten so colossal that a single weekend cannot contain it. Michigan’s Electric Forest has in seven years grown into the mitten state’s biggest to-do, and with 2016’s event selling out again in record time, Madison House Presents and Insomniac expanded 2017 to two weekends — each of which could be their own very large festival. Anchored around sets by The String Cheese Incident and Bassnectar, the two installments — hosted just inland from Lake Michigan at the gorgeous Double JJ Resort — will see several repeat performances, but also a wealth of variety.
