Los Angeles has never been known for doing anything low-key. But, somehow, FYF Fest has bucked the system and managed a difficult feat — attracting an increasingly high-profile lineup while remaining “delightfully low key.” Started in 2004 with decidedly punk leanings, the festival has significantly broadened its musical views, incorporating more hip-hop, techno and psychedelia as the years have gone by. Goldenvoice, who also produces Coachella and Stage Coach among others, joined in 2011, and while that bump has resulted in larger and larger artists and a move to Exposition Park, the event has maintained its street cred.
