Specdrums
Specdrums turn color into sound with the simple tap of your finger. Each Specdrum ring contains a MIDI device and once paired with the Specdrum app they can be set so that each color is equivalent to its own sound. Blue equals a kick drum, for example, while yellow gives you a high hat. Designed and developed in Boulder, Specdrums go far beyond that initially simple aspect, though. Each ring can also be connected to music-making software, like GarageBand or Ableton Live, so now that tap can render a chord on any instrument, or any sort of loop, and once those get included the possibilities literally become limitless. — $89
