Andy Palmer Storm’s Not Coming Immersive Records 4.5 out of 5 stars

Opening with an acoustic riff that is reminiscent of Beck’s “Loser” and with a John Bell-styled vocal growl, Denver singer/songwriter Andy Palmer comes out of the gates swinging on his new single “Storm’s Not Coming.” The gritty acoustic folk rocker —a former New York City public defender — recorded the single and it’s accompanying B-side “The Hill” for Immersive Records. It comes just a month after Palmer released a new live album Live at the Boulder Theater, which features Denver guitarist Jonah Wisneski. The prolific musician has found a way to fill his songs with heavy thoughts and deep concepts, but Palmer also manages to keep the songs approachable, inviting and entertaining.
