We Are The Sea, the writing and directorial debut for the Denver-based Neil Truglio will make it’s Colorado premier at the 33rd Starz Denver Film Festival. The first feature film project of Denver-based A Modest Film CompanyWE ARE THE SEA is the story of a young English teacher who returns from the brink of tragedy to find his life exactly where he left it — in shambles. Turning cautiously to his friends, family and even his students for guidance, he explores the possibilities for forging a future from a history of mistakes. The film’s uniquely poetic aesthetic is the result of a pairing of visually striking cinematography with the evocative music of Iron & Wine. Providing the soundtrack for the film, the music of Iron & Wine served as Truglio’s inspiration for the film and the evocative melodies function as a character in their own right.
