The Oyster Ridge Music Festival was born in 1993, created to be the home of the Wyoming State Flatpick Guitar championship. But the contest isn’t the only focus, and with weekend crowds reaching 5,000, Oyster Ridge has grown into Wyoming’s largest free music festival. Oyster Ridge puts forth a down-home feel with a Rotary Club pancake breakfast on Saturday and Sunday mornings and the infamous band scramble, which randomly pairs musicians into groups for an impromptu “band” competition.
