It used to be that festivals only happened in the summer. Then some brilliant ski bums realized that making fresh turns in the morning and coupling it with killer bands in the evening was a winning combination. Now, even places without a ski hill know that music freaks will brave the temperatures if the tunes are good enough. Meanwhile, warm weather environs have given people a reason to bust their swimsuits and tank tops out of the attic and head toward the beach for winter festivals with temperatures that feel like summer soirées — because we all know that hopping a plane and traveling across country just to catch that one band’s set that you need to hear is totally normal for a music freak.
